Replace Conveyor Belt

As ship owner's request, BIG SEA JSC arranged technicians, equipments and materials come on board to replace new conveyor belts.

The old conveyor belt No.1 has a length of 24 meters and the old conveyor belt No.2 has a length of 45 meters. Both conveyor belts have been worn out after many days of operation.

1. Arrange eqquipment

2. Cutting and removed the old belt

3. Dismantle handrain and protection plates for get space working

4.Using winch and crane support to pull the new belt into position on the roller

5.Fix the two ends of the new belt and proceed to peel off the layers of the new belt and grinding area peeled.

6.Apply adhesive and soft rubber for peeled area

7. Install heating machine

• During the hot vulcanizing process, we first heat the splice area to a temperature of 140–160°C and maintain it steadily for approximately 50 minutes to ensure uniform curing of the uncured rubber and bonding materials.
• Next, the splice is kept in a post-heating (soaking) stage for an additional 1 hour to stabilize the rubber structure and prevent shrinkage during cooling.
• Finally, the vulcanizing press is removed, and the splice is left to rest for about 2 hours to allow the rubber to reach thermal and mechanical stability before the conveyor belt is put back into operation.

9.The testing operation was completed to the satisfaction of the Chief Officer
